The goonies mama fratelli. The goonies movie. The goonies photo gallery. It has been years since I saw "The Goonies" when I was 10 years old back in 1985, it was one of my favorite movies. I recently found the movie on DVD, and it still has all the charm and fun that I remember.
The Goonies are a group of friends who's families are being evicted from their homes by a rich family to make way for a new country club. On a typical Saturday afternoon, the boys find a treasure map in their father's attic, and decide to try to track down the treasure to save their homes.
With a great fun story, classic comedy lines, The Goonies" is definitely a film that the whole family can watch. It is interesting to see Sean Astin as a young boy. How different he looked! Josh Brolin was also great.
This is your typical 80's film, but is timeless and still stands up today. Check it out with your kids. It is worth the effort to find on DVD.

be "fun for all ages. With this film's eclectic and amiable cast light
up the screen with their unique and honest interpretations, of a
group of friends that will do anything to prevent being separated in
a mass neighborhood evacuation. Richard Donner does a
wonderful job conveying the atmosphere of mystery and suspense, as we follow "The Goonies" through their exciting
adventure which entails a message that is two-fold: friends will
always be friends despite how far away they are from, and
"Goonies' Never Say Die. These two ideas describe the
wonderful theme of the movie, which allows for an extremely
entertaining movie.

I was 18 when this was released. Just a little bit too old for it. Over the decades I've heard people just a few years my junior rave about this as if it were an Indiana Jones or a gremlins or the like. So finally at the ripe old age of 46 I've had a look. I cannot believe the hype for this. The director's overriding instruction to the actors, seems to have been, shout and scream and say your dialogue whilst everyone else is saying theirs. That will keep the audience thrilled and excited. It gave this member of the audience a headache. The storyline is weak, the characters 2 dimensional and the script is dire. I kept thinking these kids must be off their Ritalin. It was like an onslaught of annoyance. I get that people are nostalgic for movies they saw when they were kids. I still think jaws is one of the greatest films ever made, whereas people younger than me can't abide the plastic shark. But really, I'm amazed that so many people still seem to rate this. I challenge anyone over 40 (in 2013) who hasn't already seen this movie as a kid, to like it.
